“When I mention to people that I am wearing hearing aids, they are shocked.”

How and when did you first realize you were experiencing hearing loss?

About 5 years ago, I was starting to struggle to hear people and it was affecting my job.

How long did it take to first seek care from a professional? Did you have hesitation? Why or why not?

Less than 6 months. No hesitation, I needed to be able to hear for my job.

Where did you first go for information or help? Why?

John Lancette, Rice Lake Center. I was with John from the beginning and I wasn’t going to seek care from any other audiologists.

What was your biggest concern about hearing aids?

How long would it take for me to adjust to them? Also, would I like them?

How have hearing aids changed your life? Were there any unexpected or surprising benefits?

I can hear much better and I am not struggling to hear like I was in the past. When I mention to people that I am wearing hearing aids, they are shocked. People expect to see something big and bulky sticking out of my ear. They don’t realize how small they are.

What would you tell someone who is considering hearing aids?

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Do it now.

Which ReSound Hearing Aid(s) do you have?
Who is your hearing care professional?
