How and when did you first realize you were experiencing hearing loss?

For years I’ve had terrible Tinnitus. The ringing in my ears has caused many sleepless nights, as well as missed words in boardroom meetings. I often would accuse family members of mumbling, which in turn would cause many fights.

Where did you first go for information or help? Why?

Because of a rather bad inner ear infection, I sought medical attention from my ENT. He suggested during my treatment, that I speak to his audiologist about hearing aids.

What was your biggest concern about hearing aids?

I was very concerned with people seeing my hearing devices in my ears.

How have hearing aids changed your life? How do they help you at your job, in your hobbies or at volunteer activities?

Having hearing aids has changed my life. I have my hearing back, and while I am using them, my Tinnitus is not ruling my life anymore.

What would you tell someone who is considering hearing aids?

Don’t wait!!! The things you miss are irreplaceable.
