“I thought my only option was going to be the hearing aids my parents and grandparents wore…could not be farther from the truth!”
How and when did you first realize you were experiencing hearing loss?
I had a hearing professional at the VA hospital test my hearing about five years ago, and the graphic result of that test was quite revealing. More recently, I realized that I was having to request my wife to repeat her sentences to the point it was becoming quite annoying to her…understandably so.
Where did you first go for information or help? Why?
The VA Hospital…they’re my primary health care folks, and they’re great!
Based on your experience, do you have suggestions for others on how and where to start? Any other important things for them to consider?
Don’t put off getting your hearing tested…if you suspect hearing loss or degradation, chances are it’s far worse than you think. Get tested and don’t hesitate to get hearing aids…technology has come a long, long way!
What was your biggest concern about hearing aids? Did that turn out to be true?
I thought my only option was going to be the hearing aids my parents and grandparents wore…could not be farther from the truth…great options now.
How have hearing aids changed your life? How do they help you at your job, in your hobbies or at volunteer activities?
My hearing aids are about five days old…but, they’re going to definitely change my life for the good…love these things.
What would you tell someone who is considering hearing aids?
Don’t hesitate…there are so many options and benefits of having them.
Which ReSound Hearing Aid(s) do you have?
ReSound LiNX Quattro
What do you like best about your ReSound LiNX Quattro hearing aids? How do they compare to your experience with other hearing aids?
This is my first set of hearing aids (kind of knew this was coming) and these things are nothing short of phenomenal. I am hearing sounds that have not been part of my life for quite some time…sounds I remember hearing as a child. The most obvious observation is the sibilant, crisp sound of water running. It’s simply amazing to hear that again.
