How and when did you first realize you were experiencing hearing loss?
I was recovering from my second bout with breast cancer. I went to Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. Discovered I had a serious hearing loss, I was very surprised. I did have a hard time with soft sounds when in public, but really had not thought about it being an issue.
I found an audiologist at St. Elizabeth Hospital. This was over four years ago. I am not sure which ReSound hearing aids I have, but I do know it had just come out.
Based on your experience, do you have suggestions for others on how and where to start? Any other important things for them to consider?
Everyone needs to stay on top of their hearing. You can change your life if you need help. You need an experienced audiologist.
What was your biggest concern about hearing aids? Did that turn out to be true?
I did not know anything about hearing aids. Now I know everyone is selling hearing aids… I feel this is not a good thing. I wanted someone who is experienced and would know what’s best for me.
What would you tell someone who is considering hearing aids?
I would tell them to contact ReSound.
