“If I were to offer any suggestions, it would be to find an audiologist and then ask for ReSound hearing aids.”
How and when did you first realize you were experiencing hearing loss?
I was diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss while stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam in 1968, this was documented in my exit physical. I was tested by the VA and fitted every 3-5 years with new hearing aids. I was tested at the VA clinic in Lakeland, Florida in March 2020 and fitted with the ReSound LiNX 3D hearing aids.
The doctor helped me set up the app [ReSound Smart 3D] and its use. For some reason, the app went into the demo mode during the night. I couldn’t fix it, so I went back to the VA clinic and because of the pandemic, they had to see me in the parking lot which was not the best answer. We got it out of the demo mode but could not recover some of the technology, so my doctor contacted the ReSound technical support team and all my technology was recovered and all is good now.
Based on your experience, do you have suggestions for others on how and where to start? Any other important things for them to consider?
I am fortunate to be close to a VA with very qualified staff, they take care of me. If I were to offer any suggestions, it would be to find an audiologist and then ask for ReSound hearing aids.
What was your biggest concern about hearing aids? Did that turn out to be true?
No concern when they helped me hear.
What would you tell someone who is considering hearing aids?
Ask for ReSound.
Which ReSound Hearing Aid(s) do you have?
ReSound LiNX 3D
