it’s time to get your hearing checked and consider your best options.”
How and when did you first realize you were experiencing hearing loss?
Not being able to hear higher frequencies (birds, higher pitched voices, upper octave music notes, etc.) or understanding conversations in noisy background situations. My hearing loss occurred as a result of military live fire exercises, 50 yrs. ago. The condition gradually worsened which finally caused me to seek options that could help about 10 yrs. ago.
Based on your experience, do you have suggestions for others on how and where to start? Any other important things for them to consider?
If hearing loss becomes a problem for you in everyday situations, it’s time to get your hearing checked and consider your best options.
What was your biggest concern about hearing aids? Did that turn out to be true?
No real concerns other than just having another item to keep up with. The benefits had to outweigh the hassle. Biggest problem is the annoyance of maintenance and service.
What would you tell someone who is considering hearing aids?
Shop around and compare, make sure that the benefits outweigh the hassle and expense.
